Beautiful demoiselle

Inhabits most of Europe, parts of North Africa, and has even been found as far East as Japan.

A large damselfly. Males have metallic blue-green wings, which may or may not have a clearer section near the base depending on the sub-species. Immature males may have brown wings. Males also have metallic blue-green bodies and eyes. Females have iridescent dark brown wings with white pseudopterostigma (contrastingly coloured patches near the wing-tips). They have metallic green bodies and their abdomens possess a bronze tip.
